Former chief of the Kwanlin Dun First Nation and lifetime resident of the Yukon Territory, Ann Smith has been weaving Ravenstail and Chilkat blankets and regalia for the past ten years.

"I do this because of my pride in my Indian culture.  When I am weaving, I feel a sense of peace.  There is a lot of growth in that."

"And it teaches me how to be patient," she laughs.

She poses here with her first Ravenstail Robe, "Box Within a Box."   She also wears one of her Ravernstail-style dance aprons and a pair of dance leggings.
